Hot Meals Preparation and Distribution to Homeless Shelter Residents in Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge
Sanatan Bengali Cultural Association (SBCA) has embarked on its inaugural humanitarian effort by preparing and distributing hot meals to those in need and homeless individuals residing in shelters throughout the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge region. SBCA endeavours to support marginalized and vulnerable communities in the Region of Waterloo. SBCA passionately extends a compassionate hand by providing nourishing hot meals to approximately 200 individuals across four shelters, including House of Friendship, Cambridge Shelter Corporation, Parents for Community Living, and oneROOF Youth Services, on May 11th, 2024. This act of kindness aims to alleviate immediate hunger and foster a sense of warmth and community support. In the future, SBCA aims to host seminars and workshops for individuals dealing with addiction and homelessness and to continue organizing food banks, used clothes drives, and socio-cultural fundraising events to support the underprivileged in our local area and beyond.
